Luminor Special Edition: PAM01957 Crafted for Malaysia by Panerai
Panerai proudly introduces a limited-edition timepiece tailored for Malaysia – the Luminor Malaysia Special Edition (PAM 01957). With only 140 pieces available, this exclusive timepiece exudes the essence of Malaysian culture and spirit. Crafted with a sandblasted titanium DLC case, the watch features a distinct black aesthetic courtesy of its Diamond-like carbon coating. Powered by Panerai’s in-house P.5000 calibre, the watch features a serene matt green Luminor sandwich dial. At six o’clock, an embossed Siluro a Lenta Corsa (SLC) pays tribute to the Italian Navy. Turn the watch over, and you’ll find an engraving celebrating Kuala Lumpur’s iconic skyscrapers and the KLCC Twin Towers. Sold with two sets of straps, this masterpiece is visually striking and technically impressive, boasting an 8-day power reserve.
This limited-edition item, marked as PAM01957, embodies Malaysia’s journey to independence and stands as Panerai’s inaugural timepiece dedicated to Malaysia, following in the footsteps of the Panerai Luminor GMT ION Singapore Edition. A fresh perspective on the Panerai California Dial
Delving into the legacy of Panerai’s precision instruments for the Italian military, the journey begins with Guido Panerai’s pioneering Radiomir, patented in 1916 for its radium-based luminescence. Over the years, the watch’s construction evolved, leading to the two-plate sandwich design and the introduction of the Luminor luminescent substance. After decades of military use, Panerai ventured into the commercial market in 1992 with iconic collections like Luminor and Luminor Marina. Acquired by Vendome Group (now Richemont Group) in 1997, Panerai’s history merged with modern innovation, resulting in the Neuchâtel-based Panerai Manufacture. Panerai’s journey is defined today by sustainability efforts, empowering everyday heroes, and forging partnerships for a better future.
A versatile and subtle form gleams in Panerai’s GoldtechTM
Panerai presents the Radiomir Quaranta GoldtechTM, a contemporary embodiment of precision and innovation, showcased at Watches & Wonders 2023. This versatile watch, fashioned from Panerai GoldtechTM – a unique blend of platinum and copper resulting in a rich red hue, features a polished GoldtechTM case, a white sun-brushed dial, and a matt brown alligator strap. A homage to Panerai’s origins, the collection pays tribute to legendary navy divers while reinterpreting iconic details for modern enthusiasts. The 40mm case size, slimmest in Panerai’s range at 10.15mm thickness, ensures adaptability across genders and occasions. This watch houses the P.900 calibre movement, combining date functionality with three days of power reserve, and is water resistant up to 3 bar (~30 metres), soon to be upgraded to 5 bar (~50 metres). With its cone-shaped crown and interchangeable strap options, the Radiomir Quaranta GoldtechTM presents understated luxury for diverse styles and preferences.
