Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur Festival Dumplings Are Here

It’s not just a dumpling—it’s a love letter to tradition.

Shangri La Kuala Lumpur

It’s not just a dumpling—it’s a love letter to tradition. This Dragon Boat Festival, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur is serving nostalgia with flair through an artfully curated collection of rice dumplings, or zongzi, from 1 to 31 May 2025.

These parcels of joy are wrapped in bamboo leaves and filled with flavour, symbolism, and intention. And honestly? They’re anything but ordinary.

At the heart of this celebration is Executive Chinese Chef Keith Yeap. With over 25 years of culinary wisdom, Chef Yeap doesn’t just cook—he narrates stories through textures, spices, and bite-sized memories. The hero of the line-up? The opulent Fragrant Peaks & Azure Tides Dumpling (RM188), a 650g treasure chest of abalone, dried oyster, scallop, and salted egg yolk. This dumpling doesn’t whisper luxury—it shouts it.

But of course, there’s more. If you’re a fan of smoky richness, the Truffle-Infused Smoked Duck Rice Dumpling (RM68) is an aromatic standout. And for those who crave the classics, the Hokkien Savoury Chicken dumpling (RM48) delivers that comforting, old-school kick of peanuts, mushrooms, and yolk.

Now, let’s talk innovation. The Celestial Blue Pearl Nyonya Dumpling is your go-to if you want tradition with a pastel twist. Infused with blue pea flower and delicate Nyonya spices, it’s as Instagrammable as it is delicious. And for plant-based fans? The Imperial Golden Chickpea & Wild Mushroom dumpling (RM48) is rich, layered, and full of umami—no meat needed.

Rounding out the collection are two alkaline dumplings for the minimalist: red bean and classic (RM38 each), each a gentle nod to timeless taste.

Need a gift? The Heritage of Asia Gift Box (RM198) is a collector’s dream. Shaped like a blooming lotus and decked in signature turquoise and gold, it houses six iconic dumplings—elegant, thoughtful, and très chic.

Whether you’re gifting or indulging, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur prove one thing: flavour, heritage, and design can—and should—coexist beautifully.
