Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) will return for its 12th edition from July 29th to August 4th, 2024. The event, held at PETRONAS Twin Towers, features over 50 designers and promises a celebration of homegrown fashion.
A Purpose-Built Fashion Wonderland
The heart of KLFW 2024 will be a specially constructed 12,000 sqft show space stretching across the Esplanade KLCC Park. This unique venue will house the main runway, various activation spaces, and can accommodate up to 500 guests per show. The structure’s large LED screen will live stream runway shows, making the event accessible to the public like never before. This innovative approach aims to make fashion more accessible, inviting everyone to partake in the excitement.
Diverse and Dynamic Designs
KLFW 2024 showcases contemporary styles, bold deconstructed pieces, sophisticated streetwear, and hybrid designs blending comfort with high fashion. Newcomers Akudesign, Corak, Ghostboy, LARNEY, SHALS, and Tact debut with fresh, innovative designs. Veteran Fuzana Mokhtaza joins local fashion icons Rizman Ruzaini, Fiziwoo, Nurita Harith, and Alia Bastamam at KLFW 2024.
Celebrating Tradition with a Modern Twist
In a special show titled “Fashion Forward Batik Malaysia,” KLFW 2024 will celebrate the artistry of batik. Kelantan-based brand Ruzzgahara will take center stage, showcasing how traditional techniques can be reinvented for contemporary fashion. This segment underscores KLFW’s commitment to honoring Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage while pushing the boundaries of modern design.
Spotlight on Emerging Talent
“Showcasing KLFW Designer Search 2024 finalists’ creations, inspired by the PEUGEOT 408’s ‘Design To Sustain’ segment.”This platform for budding designers aims to foster creativity and innovation in sustainable fashion. Emerging talents, inspired by Uzair Shoid, showcase their visions, shaping Malaysian fashion’s future on the runway.
