A Very Delicious December: InterContinental Kuala Lumpur

At InterContinental Kuala Lumpur, the festive season arrives with cheer

Dubbed Season of Golden Tidings, the hotel’s month-long celebration runs from 1 December 2025 to 1 January 2026, bringing together generous dining, thoughtful indulgences, and just enough sparkle to keep things interesting.

InterContinental KL focuses on what it does best: well-executed buffets, indulgent set menus, and experiences that are curated for enjoyment. Whether you’re here to eat, stay, or do a little of both, the season unfolds in a way that feels easy to navigate and genuinely rewarding.

Festive Buffets

Serena Brasserie

If your idea of festive dining starts and ends with a proper buffet, Serena Brasserie is where you’ll want to book early. Throughout most of December, the Sparkling Season Dinner Buffet (1–23 and 26–30 December) runs from 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm and is priced at RM278 nett per adult and RM139 nett per child, with children aged five and below dining for free.

On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, things step up a notch. The Golden Feast Dinner Buffet (24 and 25 December) comes in at RM318 nett per adult and RM159 nett per child, with highlights including Slow Roasted Prime Rib, Salmon en Croute, seafood on ice, Yorkshire pudding, and a dessert spread that clearly understands the importance of pacing yourself.

A Japanese Christmas, Thoughtfully Curated

Tatsu Japanese Cuisine

For those who prefer structure over sprawl, Tatsu Japanese Cuisine delivers one of the season’s most carefully composed meals. On 24 December, Executive Japanese Chef Hiroshi Masuda presents a six-course Christmas Eve set dinner priced at RM258 nett per person.

Ingredients flown in from Tokyo’s Toyosu Market anchor a menu that balances playfulness and precision. There’s a Christmas wreath appetiser of grilled rolled chicken and marinated tiger prawn, a comforting Japanese tomato soup, pristine sashimi, and mains that include grilled chicken with foie gras and grilled salmon, served with a Snowman rice porridge. Dessert arrives in the form of a delicate matcha crepe roll. It’s festive without being fussy, and quietly impressive from start to finish.

Afternoon Tea, the Holiday Edition

OneSixFive Lounge

Afternoon tea gets a festive remix at OneSixFive Lounge with the Hidden Gems Afternoon Tea: Holiday Edition, served daily from 2 pm to 5 pm. Priced at RM288 nett per set for two, it strikes a satisfying balance between savoury and sweet.

Expect bites like prawn tartlets with Marie sauce, smoked duck breast, mini tacos, and arancini, followed by gingerbread and plain scones, pecan cranberry tart, strawberry vanilla sponge cake, chestnut mousse with blueberry compote, and lemon ivory cheese mousse. It’s the kind of tea that works just as well for catching up with friends as it does for easing into the festive mood.

Cocktails and Cakes

Bentley’s Pub keeps things simple and celebratory with festive cocktails available daily. The Holiday Manhattan and Golden Ginny are priced at RM60 nett per glass, while the Gold Beard mocktail comes in at RM40 nett.

For takeaway indulgence, the hotel’s festive creations cover all the bases. The Black Forest with Amarena Cherry Yule Log Cake is priced at RM178 nett, while chocolate figurines and lollipops start from RM20 nett per piece, making them easy add-ons for gifts or dinner invitations.

A December Treat, Courtesy of Helena Rubinstein

Throughout December, diners who spend RM500 nett and above across the hotel’s restaurants can redeem an exclusive Helena Rubinstein gift set and a Discovery Facial invitation card at OneSixFive Lounge. It’s a polished extra that adds a beauty-forward touch to the dining experience. Terms and conditions apply, but the appeal is obvious.

Festive Stays With Added Indulgence

Guests booking Suites or Premium Lounge Access Rooms in December are welcomed into a collaboration with Helena Rubinstein that brings skincare into the festive equation. Suite guests receive a Replasty Age Recovery welcome ritual upon check-in, a Replasty Eye Cream turndown amenity, and a Discovery Facial invitation. Premium Lounge Access Room guests enjoy a refined eye cream turndown amenity.

The limited-time Stay & Dine festive package (1–31 December) builds on this with accommodation in spacious Super King or Super Single beds, daily breakfast for two at Serena Brasserie, a curated set dinner for two at Tatsu Japanese Cuisine or dining credit for festive offerings, and 20% off food and beverage (excluding alcohol, in-room dining, and tobacco). There’s also complimentary buffet dining for children aged five and below, scheduled shuttle services to Suria KLCC and Pavilion KL, and late check-out until 3pm, subject to availability.

Ringing in the New Year

New Year’s Eve goes all out at Serena Brasserie with a Dinner Buffet on 31 December from 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm, priced at RM498 nett per adult and RM249 nett per child, inclusive of free-flow beverages and a festive party pack.

The celebration continues with a Countdown Party from 10.30 pm to 1 am, featuring a live performance by G5, DJ sets, lucky draws, and a midnight balloon drop. Light snacks are available for purchase throughout the evening.

On 1 January 2026, the New Year’s Day Long Lunch Buffet runs from 12.30 pm to 4 pm at RM238 nett per adult and RM119 nett per child, with children aged five and below dining for free.
