There is something exciting about seeing a Michelin Bib Gourmand award-winner open a new chapter in Kuala Lumpur. Dancing Fish, honoured in 2023, 2024, and 2025, has found its second home at The Campus Ampang, Kuala Lumpur’s newest lifestyle and wellness hub.

Founded in 2010 at Bangsar Shopping Centre, Dancing Fish has built its reputation as a restaurant serving authentic Malay-Indo cuisine, inspired by the rich landscapes and bold flavours of the region. The restaurant’s new Ampang outlet combines modern design with Balinese warmth, offering a tranquil dining space where wood textures meet natural light. It feels like stepping into a tropical sanctuary — the kind where good food and good company naturally follow.
The Menu: Heritage Served Beautifully
Dancing Fish’s menu reads like a love letter to tradition. Every dish reflects care, patience, and the art of balance between spice and soul.

Their signature Ikan Nila, fried to a golden crisp, mimics the elegant movement of a fish in mid-dance — a playful touch that never fails to impress. The dish is served with traditional Manado-style sambal, fiery yet addictive.

Regulars swear by the Buntut Belado Enak, a tender Australian oxtail marinated and flame-grilled for smoky perfection. The Bebek Goreng and Charcoal-Grilled Chicken Satay deliver deep, comforting flavours.

For lighter bites, the Emping with Sambal Terasi, Salad Mangga Mangga, and Cumi-Cumi Goreng pair beautifully with rice and laughter. And yes, their homemade sambals — more than 20 varieties, each made from scratch — are reason enough to return.
